Long before we had our own factory or contract manufacturers, Omez Beauty started in the most humble way possible by hand, at home. I used to make every single product myself, mix them in small batches, fill the jars, label them, and walk into town to ship orders. It was just me, a vision, and a lot of determination.
Those early days were wild, exciting, and challenging but the most rewarding part? Knowing that every bottle and jar carried a piece of my heart and the mission behind Omez: to help Black women love, grow, and nurture their hair with effective, safe, and culturally-rooted formulas.
The Growth That Changed Everything
Then came the growth. Our products started going viral. Reviews poured in. Orders came in faster than I could make them. We literally couldn’t keep up.
That moment pushed me to expand, we opened our own production space, and also partnered with a contract manufacturer to meet growing demand. But here’s what never changed: I still formulate every single Omez Beauty product myself.
Yes, I’m not just the founder, I’m a certified cosmetic formulator, and every ingredient that goes into our jars is intentional, effective, and rooted in real hair needs, especially for women with 4C hair, low porosity hair, and hair prone to breakage.
And even now, as orders grow bigger, some days 100 units, other days 100,000 units, quality and care remain our top priorities.
Staying True to the Mission (Even Miles Away)
There was a recent moment I’ll never forget. I was thousands of miles away from our factory, studying full-time in a different country, when we received a large, urgent order. Most people would panic or delay.
Me? I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. I went back to my roots literally and formulated what we needed myself, like I used to do. It reminded me that no matter how big we get, that original passion still lives on.
And yes, I once made 500 bottles of our hair growth oil in 2 days. Some things, you never forget.
